1st Trimester Exercise ?

What are the don'ts? I don't want to stop exercising, but I also don't see the Dr. until the 11th. So far I've read not to get overheated so I've taken the intensity down. Anything else? (I do yoga and I walk.)

You should keep your heart rate under 140 and you shouldnt do any stomach exercises.

Re: 1st Trimester Exercise ?

I actually heard you could do stomach exercises until 20 weeks. I stopped at 13 or 14 because I was lazy.

I haven't heard many restrictions other than not getting overheated.

Re: 1st Trimester Exercise ?

Ive read and heard

What exercise should I do for the abdominal muscles?
0 – 12 weeks
Abdominal curls can continue during this time as long as you feel happy to do them and it does not make you feel sick. Exceptionally strong abdominal exercise will need to be reduced at this time. If you are expecting twins, abdominal curls are not appropriate.
12 – 20 weeks
From 12 weeks onwards, abdominal exercises should be discontinued apart from pelvic tilts. The pelvic tilt and abdominal squeezes should be used every day to improve posture and prevent additional stress to the back. Pelvic tilts can be done seated or standing.

This is very helpful. I was worried about the twisting in yoga and the abdominal work I was doing. I stopped that part because I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Re: 1st Trimester Exercise ?

My doctor says exercise is fine - crunches are fine - jogging, etc.
