1st Trip to Picture People 1/2 rant, 1/2 rave (w/pic)
We had a free offer from Picture People so I took Ellie on Friday for Halloween. Not wild about having to make an appt b/c something always go wrong when I try to take her somewhere at a specific place, but it's a zoo so I understand. they were super nice and everyone fawned over her. I think our photographer was a little green b/c they weren't the best pictures we've had of her and one of the others had to stop her and show her a different way to use the blanket for a better shot. Her halloween shot was fantastic! However the regular pics they took of her were totally mediocre so I ended up not buying any  (which is totally unheard of for me) and just taking my freebies. I also was disappointed that they only took shots of her laying down on a bean bag. Boring. She looks all slumped over in all of them. That was fine when she was first born but now she can hold herself up and belly shots are much more fun and come out much better. They told me they have a policy that until their 7 mos old they don't put them on the floor  The women in charge was like well for a lot of kids they're not developmentally able until them and rather then judge case by case we just generalize...ewww!  Oh well. Their loss. B/c as I said I didn't buy any and I won't go back until she's over 7 mos. so they won't get another sale until then. But I'll share the costume shot b/c it's fantastic! I thought so. I saw all these really cute sample pics coming accross these screens they have and I was like hey, how come we didn't do any of that and that's when they told me. Whatever

Great shot! I don't know which Picture People you went to, but my son was six months and they had him sitting on the floor. Maybe it's a policy of that location.

Great shot! I don't know which Picture People you went to, but my son was six months and they had him sitting on the floor. Maybe it's a policy of that location.
It was the one in Roosevelt Field. It kind of sounded like a load of boloney to me so who knows maybe it is the location or maybe it was just their way of justifying not having done any more poses.
ETA the more I think about it the more it bothers me b/c they wouldn't have had any way of knowing how old she was until after we were done shooting and I asked/complained about not doing any belly poses. It's not like they asked on the way in.

that is total BS, I have shots of Bella from when she was 6 months and she was on the floor for ALL of the shots both sitting and on her belly...they were just covering their butt...AND I had belly shots of Bella at 3 months from the pillow thing...
BUT, that Halloween shot is BEYOND gorgeous, I love it....

That's what I figured. I should've been more aggressive I guess. Oh well, just not me. But I did love the halloween one so it was worth it.

what a great photo! I didnt like picture people at Roosevelt Field just from trying to make an appointment they were rude to us, we went to the one in the sunrise mall and they were great!

that's good to know. I wouldn't mind going to sunrise mall next time if it will be a better experience. I didn't know they had one. Thanks!
