1t birthday menu question
Ds's party is Saturday and we are finalizing everything. We are having it at a pavilion on the beach, we have the use of grills. Our menu for adults includes hamburgers, turkey burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, corn on the cob, salads (potato, pasta, cole slaw, and a green salad), and sausage and peppers. There will be about 60 adults at the party and 10 kids. DH suggested getting a couple of pizza pies for the kids. I just assumed most kids would like hamburgers and hot dogs, but my kid is only 12 months so what do I know? Would you get the pizza for the kids? Also, for dessert we obviously have the cake and coffee. But should we also have cookies, pastries, cannolis, etc? The cake is enough to feed everyone, I just don't want people who may not like cake to have nothing to eat with their coffee. What did you do? TIA!

I'm a dessert girl coming from a dessert loving family, so I def. think you should have a tray of cookies in addition to the cake. I would not do pastries or cannolis since it will be warm/outside. But also a fruit salad or fruit platter would be really good- it goes with the BBQ theme and is an alternative for people who want to be healthier/don't want the actual dessert being served.
I think you have a lot of kid friendly options (hamburgers and hot dogs and some kids may even go for the grilled chicken). I actually don't think the pizza is necessary, especially for only 10 kids, but if you'd rather be safe and don't care about having too much food- I say then go for it. (adults may end up wanting it and going for that too though). But I think all of the things you already have would be more than enough in amount and variety and I def. think the kids would eat it.
