2 month shots..UPDATE

Bryan goes tomorrow. Did any of your DC have reactions? If so, what?
Im so nervous.Chat Icon

UPDATE: Thank You all again. We got home about 45 mins. ago, he had a bottle, and now he's "talking" in his bassinett. I thought he'd stay asleep, guess not. I did not do Tylenol yet. Dr. said if he's cranky or fever. So far he's content, we shall see.
Thank You again for all your replies.Chat Icon

Re: 2 month shots

Chat Icon I was nervous too, DD went last week and she was fine, she got the rotavirus which is oral and then 2 shots that included whatever they have to get for their 2 months dont know all names off hand but she cried when she was pricked and then stopped after a minute and fell asleep in the car. we gave her baby tylenol asap in her sleep and for 3 more doses after that every 4 hours and she didnt have a fever or get sick!
I also fed her 4 hours prior to the appt. it was actually her feeding time when she got the shots so she was loving that oral shot!!!!! It knocked her out all the shots thats it.
dont worry, DC will be fine!!!Chat Icon

Re: 2 month shots

I want to say, that was the hardest thing I had to go through yet.

He got the oral rotovirus one..no problem. Then 2 shots in one leg and 1 in the other. I cried, he cried. I did not feed him before appt, so when nurse left the room after shots, I sat there and fed him..composed myselfChat Icon he was drained and went right to sleep.

dr said give him tylenol that afternoon anyways..that his leg will be sore, even if there is no fever.

he was fine..a little slugish and I think mad at me, but all was okay that night.

Chat Icon I remember I was a wreck the whole week beforfe Maddie got her shots. I worried for nothing though because she did wonderfully. I gave her 2 doses of tylenol liked the ped. recommended and she slept great that night.

Re: 2 month shots

We gave him 1/2 a dose of tylenol that night and a few times after that. That first night he had his best sleep ever at that time.

Don't worry, it's for his own good!

Re: 2 month shots

It was so sad for me- even though DD came through it fine. She grabbed my finger with her little hand so hard when she got the first shot it just broke my heart.

She ended up sleeping for 10 hours after the shots which was not good for the nightime. But she was fine- no reactions at all.
