2 questions in one post-RE: 1st Molars & RE: Acid Reflux
i didn't want to take over the board with all my questions today
When did your DC's 1st molars come in?
DD has gotten 4 teeth in a month and i felt her gums and it seems where the 1st molars are suppose to come in seems swollen, but not the cuspids or incisors which are next. COuld they be coming in already?
Acid reflux moms-DD is 10 months old and it's got a vengeance on her! I have been hearing the reflux for the last couple days.
Did anyone DC have reflux for this long?
Between teething and reflux, this could explain how my easy going laid back baby turned into a monster! Poor thing..

Re: 2 questions in one post-RE: 1st Molars & RE: Acid Reflux
My son's reflux was mild and lasted only like 3-4 months or so. After that it very much lessened.
My son is a late teether - he got his 1 year old molars between 21-23 months old. He did get those 2nd bottom teeth - inscisors?- after that though bwteen 23-24 months old. I know quite a few people whose kids got the first molars before the seond set of teeth - meaning only had two on top and two on bottom.

Re: 2 questions in one post-RE: 1st Molars & RE: Acid Reflux
I can't help with the reflux, but Brendan got his two bottom first molars between 11 and 12 months. The top first molars are on their way out too. The gums were really swollen for a while before the molars poked through, but it's definitely possible she's getting them. I think they usually get the incisors, then the molars, and then the cuspids. On the bottom Brendan got the central incisors, then the lateral incisors, and then the molars, no cuspids yet. On the top he got the incisors and then the cuspids and now the gums where his molars are extremely swollen and purple.
Brendan was an early teether though. He got his first tooth a 3.5 months and now at almost a year he has 12.

Re: 2 questions in one post-RE: 1st Molars & RE: Acid Reflux
RJ got all his molars w/in a 2 week span
week 1- tops week 2- bottoms
He was (and still is) 17 months when this happened...
He has the 1st 4 teeth up top and the bottom 4 teeth as well (not including the molars)
So he got his molars before the cuspids (sp?) as well...
His gums were VERY swollen a week or 2 prior to get the molars.... I knew right away by feeling the gums he was getting his molars...
Out of all his teething- this was by far the WORST...
DS always cuts at least 2 teeth at a time
ETA- I never ever used orajel when he was an infant- I was scared he'd spit up and choke- since it can numb your gag reflex..
However- with the molars I used oragel like it was going outta style... I figured since he was older and no longer spits up he'd be fine (I just wouldnt use it before putting him to sleep)
I thank the Lord for orgel during the trying time

I thought it was suppose to get better as they got older and as they eat solid food. It seems to be getting worse with solids. We just upped her dose, she now gets Prevacid 15mcg twice a day starting today. How's Hannah doing?
