2 under 2 moms...carseat question...

Did everyone put the newborn behind the passenger and your older one behind the driver?

Yep.

ETA: We did it that way because then we can recline the driver seat a little more.

Re: 2 under 2 moms...carseat question...

I have my 2yr old behind the passanger and my 8mo old in the middle. I had the baby behind me but now he went to the next stage car seat and it stays in the car and for the other kids to get into the 3rd row of the truck I have to be able to lift the seat behind me so they can get back there and I didn't want to have to disconnect the car seat everytime some one had to get back there.

I'm just wondering what I should do...
DD lately is constantly whining for something when I'm driving and I can easily give it to her...
If I put her behind me I don't know how I will see her/give her crap...
But I feel like I should see the new baby, I don't know!

My DD is the same way, always asking for stuff. I can just reach behind me and she can grab it pretty easily. I can still see her in the rearview too, so it worked out well for us.

Initially I had Sarah behind the passenger seat and Andy behind the driver seat, but then when we had the seats checked the guy changed them. I'm able to pass her books behind me.

my girls are 2 under 3Chat Icon but I have Sarah directly behind me so I can see her in that mirror thing, and Emily across from me so I can hand her things when she needs.

I had Maddie (baby #2) directly behind me so I could unbuckle Joseph (baby#1)& he could walk over to me. This way I didn't have to go around the car every time to get the infant car seat.

We had no choice, they had to go behind the driver and passenger. The middle would not ahve worked in our cars.

Re: 2 under 2 moms...carseat question...

We put DD behind the driver's seat, and moved DS to passenger side. He is three years older than DD. This way, we can just turn around and get DD out of the car, initially, still in her infant seat, then go to the other side to get DS. Since DD was in the infant seat, she couldn't go anywhere. Now that DD is a little bigger, and soon will be walking a lot, it's not as big a deal, but at first, it was just safer and more logical for us at that point.

The more I think about it, the more I think I am going to keep it this way for now and see how it works out...
I am trying to keep Sydney's world as "normal" as possible when I bring the new baby home...

Re: 2 under 2 moms...carseat question...

The baby is behind the passenger seat and Nate is behind the driver. DH likes to recline his seat a little when he drives so the rear-facing seat would not be positioned properly.
