2 year old birthday party-late morning or early afternoon?
We are thinking of having a very small party for DDs 2nd birthday (kids from daycare and a few others). It would be at a bounce place or something like that.
Would you start at 11 or wait until 3ish?
I would love to do something at my house but Aug in NC is not a good time.
ETA: that should be 3PM (we are not having a 3 AM rager for a 2 yo )

We did a family/friends BBQ and everyone has kids, so we did it at the 3pm time.
That way it was after nap and since it was a BBQ....everyone ate dinner.

We're doing DS's party at 3pm also because of naptime.

3PM is a great time. It helps work around nap time for the kids and they come in good moods

I think 3pm is better since most will be able to take a nap beforehand.

i guess I am going to go against the grain and vote 11.
3 seems so smack in the middle of the day.
11:00 party is a good way to start the day...I hate waiting around for playdates.

I agree. And if you are serving food, that is lunch. Whereas 3, and you eat at 4, is just a weird time IMO

I didn't add a middle option at 12 or 1 because I figured that would definitely be smack in the middle of nap time. Would that be better?

I think 11-1 is a good time because then you can offer a meal and cake where as 3 pm you will spoil the kids appetite for dinner and they will have already had lunch so the kids may not be so hungry at 3 for a full on meal. I also feel like if the party is from 11-1 that it is not taking up the entire day for everyone. I don't like late play dates either.

we will be there no matter what time it is, wouldn't miss it
mikayla is older so her nap time is more flexible
I used to say "she HAS to be in for a nap by noon" but sometimes she does not go down until 1:30 or so

I voted for 3-5 PM but I really don't have a preference between those times...either would be fine.
Aren't I helpful??

Re: 2 year old birthday party-late morning or early afternoon?
For us, it's hard to say because my DS has been difficult with the napping on the weekends. If he won't nap, 11am is better, but if he does nap, 3 pm is better. I am no help.
If some or many of the kids are from daycare, what time do they nap at daycare? I usually try to stick to the daycare schedule on the weekends. If I were inviting kids from there, I would probably schedule it around when they normally nap during the week.

Re: 2 year old birthday party-late morning or early afternoon?
Id say the 11 oclock time. the later time would be smack in the middle of DDs nap at that age.
