20 Weeks with some questions

I'm going to be 20 weeks tomorrow and this past week I haven't felt pregnant. The only thing I've felt were kind of mild cramping and pulling feeling (growing and stretching maybe?).

I started feeling the baby move around 17-18 weeks. No kicking, but that rolling/pressure feeling and a little of the popcorn sensation. However this week I've hardly felt anything, and that worries me a little. I know that you don't necessarily feel a whole lot around this time, but having felt something and then not makes me a little worried.

Today, I'm having a strange shooting pain (it's mild, not intense) every few seconds right at the center of my pelvic region. I've heard of shooting pains on the right or left, but not in the middle.

I had a miscarriage before, in the first trimester, but I guess I freak out at every little thing, or lack there of. I'm just wondering if this sounds like anything you've gone through.

As I live in Ireland I haven't even seen my doc yet. I've had 3 scans (2 early ones because of my prior mc), but I see my doc for the first time next week and it can't come quick enough. I can't just pick up the phone if I have a question, so I appreciate any light you could shed for me.

I've attached a pic of me today at 19w6d.

TIA.

ETA: pic was too big, trying again.

Re: 20 Weeks with some questions

The beauty of the 2nd trimester is that you don't feel pregnant much of the time! I know it's scary after you have had a loss, but it really is normal to feel good.....

I don't think the really big kicks and stuff started until closer to 26 weeks for me- I would feel her sporadically but it gets mush more active and regular in a few weeks. I did have those shooting pains deep inside that you describe and even asked the doc about it who assured me it was normal.

The overwhelming chances are that things are fine- you have made it so far and have good sonos. Try to relax and enjoy feeling good, because in a few months that baby will be beating you up from the inside!Chat Icon

Re: 20 Weeks with some questions

it's normal to feel weird pulling and odd pains from time to time. you should really only worry if the pain is very strong/unbearable.

as for feeling the baby, drink some orange juice or eat something sweet, wait 20 minutes, and lay on your left side. i bet you will feel something then Chat Icon
