2012 Reading Recap

Let's all post our book total for the year (if you were keeping track), your page total for the year (if you were keeping track), and what your favorite book(s) of the year were! Doesn't have to be a book that came out this year, just one you read this year.

I'll start:

I read 876 books this year. According to Goodreads, I read about 36,000 pages. My favorites were 11/22/63, Wild, Tell the Wolves I'm Home, and Age of Miracles.

876 books? That's like 3 a day. How is that possible?

I probably read about 25. I got into the trashy romance books this year, and my faves were Thoughtless and Effortless and the Edge of Never.

If you are on Goodreads, you can go under how many books you read for the year, and then switch from books to pages and it give you the page count.

Ah ha! Got it!

I'm just finishing my 44th book- The Passage by Justin Cronin. I loved the beginning but it switched gears in a really bizarre and abrupt way and then it started dragging. It took me like 2 weeks to slog through the middle of it and now it's picked up again. And I still have 350 pages! Chat Icon I have no idea where this is going, but it better be as good as the hype!

I've read about 16,000 pages in total. Most of my books were paranormal series.

I think the BEST book I read this year was Divergent. I really loved this book for some reason!

ETA: The longest book I read was Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin coming in at 1,128 pages.

The details section is pretty interesting, especially comparing it to last years! I read waaaaaaay more in 2011.

2012 Reading Recap

I'm on my 36th book of the year, but all of them have been from August till now since I spent the first half of the year finishing law school and studying for the bar exam.

Some of my favorites were The Hunger Games and all of Gillian Flynn's books (though I thought Gone Girl was the best). I'm currently rereading Slaughterhouse Five.

The Passage DID drag, but the sequel The Twelve is great and pretty fast-moving. I liked it better than the first.

Oh, wow! I didn't know the sequel was even out yet! I mean now that the girl is back in the story, it's much more interesting, but it was brutal there for a minute. Chat Icon I'll power through! Thanks!

According to Goodreads I read 41, which is low for me, but I think there are a few that didn't get included. I also read quite a few business-related books, which I didn't include.

My favorite books for the year were The Chaperone and Mr. Churchill's Secretary.
