I don't think it matters how big for the temp. Almost everytime I make a turkey I cook it at 350 although the packaging usually says 325.

here's a link that will help.Turkey

Also, stick a meat thermometer in a thigh towards the end for the internal temp. I never let it get to 185 though. Somewhere around 170 is usually good.

I thought the rule was 4 hours for every 10 lbs?

I don't mind cooking it slow - because I want it to come out moist....so I am trying to figure out the best way....

it's slow enough. I don't think I've ever cooked a turkey on 325. Always a moist turkey, but do whatever you do!

The general rule is 20 minutes for each pound, plus an extra 20 minutes (this is for a completely thawed turkey). Usually recipes say to cook it at 350, but my oven temp is off, so I often cook at 375. This is without stuffing. If you are stuffing the turkey, it takes longer, though I'm not sure how much longer. Get a meat thermometer too--that's the only way you can really be sure it's done. Don't rely on those pop-up things, they don't always work.

There are a number of ways you can season the turkey, but a good general seasoning is to mix butter, sage, pepper, salt, garlic, and basil. Rub it all over the turkey, under the skin. Put some garlic cloves and onion chunks in the cavity of the bird if you are not putting stuffing there.

Make sure you cover it with foil up until the last hour or so, otherwise it will dry out.
