24 hour CVS ( Hicksville) wont let you return any

merchandise after 10pm b/c the store manager claims people are taking receipts out of the garbage and making returns with them
then the shift manager doesnt know corporates address, name of district or regional manager and had no words but yea oh um what when I called and questioned all of this! my dh went to return some items for me with a receipt and hes way too easy he just left when they told him come back at 830 am the manager has to do it.
the manager apparently made up his own rules. well tomorrow he is going to get me- someone who was a store manager for over 10 years( left the field now in healthcare), and head of loss prevention.

I can understand both POV. I am so sorry that you have to deal with this again tomorrow. It is absolutely frustrating to have to go do something twice. However, from the store's POV I can see where they are coming from too.

Corporate # is right on the CVS extra care card. I can't tell you how many times I've had to use that number to complain.

I hope that manager and his manager gets reprimanded.

This is ripped out of the headlines. I don't remember who, but someone took about $14K worth of receipts from a liquor store's garbage and used to to get reimbursed for gifts from his employer.

there are signs posted in the 24 hour CVS near me explaining that same policy.

Well.....

I don't really see what the big deal is, I mean, the manager probably shouldn't be making up rules, but if they are getting scammed, I can understand it.

And what is really the big deal to come back in the morning?

I worked at the Gap about 5-6 years ago and there was a big scam at the time where people would steal clothes and they had a computer program that could generate a receipt and then they would return it for cash, after hearing that, a lot more store policies make sense to me.....

It is a shame that the actions of a few ruin it for everyone

If its honestly their poilicy then they should make sure to have it posted near the registers but the procedure does have some merit.

I think its a little ridiculous though the person didnt know anything regarding corporate tho.
