BRIDAL SHOWER FAVORS - NEED HELP

Looking for ideas for a friend's bridal shower for favors.

Please give me some suggestions and pics if you have.

She wants something that is going to be useful to everyone but also cute and pretty.

I just saw one bride on LIW do umbrellas and I thought " what a great gift!!!!"

Now that could also be expensive.....
Candles, coasters, lotions are all good gifts

What I've gotten in the past that has been useful?

CD's
umbrella (it was really cute.. Came with a personalized tag that read "For Your Next Shower) and what I liked was that it was a a regular umbrella. the umbrella itself wasn't personalized. I liked that.

Bath and Body works lotions/gels/soaps With tags that read "From (Bride's Name)'s Shower to Yours)

Bottle of Wine (it was a wine theme)

Bottle opener.

I had beautiful edible favors at my shower. They were chocolate flowers -- the petals were individually wrapped chocolates in colored cellophane and the flowers were bunched together into little bouquets for each guest. My MOH got there. I'm not sure where, but I can try to find out.

I loved what my mom gave out at my bridal shower.

She went to Tri-county in Levittown and bought little bamboo plants (they are for luck), tied red ribbons around them (to "ignite" the luck) and put a little poem on them and on the other side put my name and the date. They were really cute. I still go to some people's houses and they still have them (and I'm married for 4 years!!).

The best favor I ever received was bottle of OPI nail polish (in one of their wedding colors) w/ a nail file.

things i've done for showers i've been a part of planning...

cookie cutters in cute shapes with a tag that had a sugar cookie recipe and the saying " cut out for each other" and the bride and grooms names

i bought a flat of impatiens ( well, my parents own a garden center so i didn't actually buy them!) and then bought a bunch of small terra cotta pots at michaels. then, i planted a flower in each one with a tag saying " growing in love " and the bride and grooms names- everybody l oved that they could take the home and plant them in the yard and enjoy them all summer.

for mine, they did pretty teacups/coffee mugs that they got from the dollar store and put a couple flavored teas in each one with a tag saying something like ' the perfect blend".... everyone really thought they were useful because mugs are always breaking so you can always use another one!

My friend's favor was a personalized cake server which I use!

For my baby shower my mom got baby powder scented jar candles at AC Moore and wrapped them in tulle. I know they also have wedding cake scented jar candles. They looked really pretty.

My mom folded dish towels with a bow for our favors, and gave that with a Yankee candle and a chocolate bar. I still use my dish towel.

I made potted plants for my friends bridal shower-it was a spring shower, so I painted the actual pot all spring colors, then bought flowers for each person to keep.

Cookie Cutters in Wedding Theme, Ice Cream Scooper filled with Hershey Kisses or other Wrapped Chocolate, Measuring Spoons or Cups, Tea Cups and Saucers filled with Tea Bags. That is all the ideas I have for now. I hope that I heped you out a little.
