going to see house in Bellmore tonight.........
Wondering if their are any local places to check out..like a local restaurant?? Maybe grab a drink to get a feel for the neighborhood???? TIA

I agree or you can go up bedford avenue right by piccolos and there is a cute town, with shops, restaurants and I believe IDK is still there (ice cream shop)

I second Piccolo - I had dinner there Saturday night and they put in a bar since the last time I was there. It had quite a few people there and was a nice atmosphere.

Not really sure where we will be??
Hubby is in charge!!! He has directions...Don't know the area at all really...went there once with a realtor and really liked it..so we are looking there for a house (still selling our co-op though)..

i moved to North Bellmore in 1994 when i was in 9th grade and went to Mepham. as a teenager it was hard moving there since everyone was set in their groups. but i found my way. it's a great town. very safe and schools are excellent. you can't go wrong there. im originally from brooklyn, so i moved back here with my husband, but now we're buying a house in north merrick. i wanted to stay near that area.

I just moved to Bellmore (basically on the border of Bellmore and N. Bellmore) a couple of months ago. I love it. Everything is convenient, the neighborhood is nice looking, people are friendly. The school district is excellent. I have nothing negative to say so far.
