2nd/3rd Trimester Mommies - Changes in appetite question.

Hi everyone - I'll be 26 wks on Monday and over the past 3 weeks, I've been experiencing some pretty crazy changes in my appetite. With the exception of a few food aversions, I had been able to eat pretty much what I wanted up until this point.

Now, all I can eat is really plain food (bread, brown rice, plain pasta, some vegetables, fruit). Anything else I try to eat immediately makes me feel ill or goes right through me (sorry! TMI!).

I'm just curious to know if any other mommies/mommies to be experienced something similar and, if so, how long it lasted.

TIA!

I have been back & forth my whole PG. Somedays I can eat anything in front of me, and others I force down toast.

Lately I have been finding an increase in my appetite though.Chat Icon

I have been like that the entire time. At almost 35 weeks I have just about had it!! I basically can only eat VERY small portions of VERY bland things. Every so often I will want something different and try to eat it and always end up getting sick from it. I live on rice and baked potatos. And every so often I will have 1 spoonful of vanilla ice cream. Oh, and lately I have been eating a 1/2 a piece of matzoh with jelly as a meal. My DH gets mad b/c I am not eating a balanced diet, but it took him this long to realize that if I eat something that doesn't appeal to me I end up sick---so I don't eat it.

Sorry, I was sort of rambling there. Chat Icon

I hope yours goes away soon!!! My friend is 28 weeks and she had the same problem that lasted about 2 weeks!! Hope the same goes for you!!!!Chat Icon

me too, the problem is that I will start eating and feel full in a few bites and then I am hungry again in couple of hours... very annoying!

Thanks everyone. I'm just hoping it doesn't get worse because I'm running out of things to eat! DH keeps reminding me it's only for 14 more weeks (or less!) and then I can hopefully have my appetite back. I hope all the mommies experiencing the same thing feel better soon, too! Chat Icon
