2nd B-Day Party - Keeping it small

I think I want to keep DD's 2nd B-Day celebration very small and just have immediate family.

I feel bad because part of me wants to do something big for her because this will be the last year it is just her. The baby is due July 11 and DD's B-Day is the end of April.

However, I really don't want to spend all the $$$ for a big party she really won't remember.

Maybe I'll just do a bigger party for her 3rd b-day next year since I will be doing a 1st B-Day for the baby a few months later.

We did just a small 2nd bday party for DD with just immediate family b.c DD#2 was only turning 4 weeks old and we didn't want a lot of people around the baby. She loved it - we did a mickey mouse clubhouse theme and decorated my parents house (we were supposed to do it in their backyard but it poured) and we just geared it all to her - and she had a great time - and kept asking for another party. We are making it up to her this year - by throwing her a party at bouncers and Slydos.

See this is part of my dilemma. I don't know if I want to do two big parties in two months next year. However, we normally have a big BBQ in July every year anyway.
