2nd round of shots???

I have to take Kara for her checkup and her second round of shots. She did really good last month but they say they usually have no reaction. It's usually the other round of shots.

Should I give her tylenol before we go or right before she gets them or after?? How much should I give?

Any advice appreciated.
I feel so bad that I have to take her, she has been so happy lately and I hate hearing her cry.

I know it has to be done though.

Re: 2nd round of shots???

The 2nd round of shots was tough for Jacob...we gave him Tylenol an hour before the shots and for 48 hours after that. What we couldnt control was his extreme fussiness...we just had to wait it out and it went away within 72 hours. It was tough to see him like that and they do say that one of the shots this time is very likely to cause side effects Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I took Bryan and as soon as the appointment was over I went and got the infant tylelnol, a new thermometer..got all prepared...He had no reactions at all. I was shocked and of course very happy. He went on about his day, completley normal. I gave him nothing ahead of time either.
Maybe your DD will do the same.

Re: 2nd round of shots???

I always give my DD Tylenol before we go for shots. They tylenol isn't going to hurt her so I always figure why not be on the safe side. She's never had a reaction to any shots.

The amount of tylenol that you give is based on the baby's current weight.
