3 month old baby rolling over in crib, all over the place - advice needed

My daughter just turned 3 months. She is able to roll over from her back to tummy really easily. We're having trouble when it comes to her sleeping in her crib. We used to swaddle her, but now she rolls over like a little burrito. We bought a 2 different but similar versions of the positioners that lay flat on the crib mattress and just have two bolsters that fit under her arm pits - the problem is that she is a Houdini, and whether swaddled or not, she doesn't flip over it, but out the top of it. If we don't use the positioners, she is all over the place. I've been swaddlinf her and laying her feet basically in the positioner for daytime naps and checking on her every 20 mins or so. At night, we just keep her in a sleeper, no swaddle, but keep checking on her. Our fear lies in SIDS of course; I found her last week during a nap, nose down in her mattress and it was red when she woke up. I don't mind her lying on her side or tummy, but I'm not sure if her mind is as strong as her body and that she "knows" that she needs to move her head to the side if she wants to sleep on her tummy. Does anyoen have any advice for a very nimble baby? It's hard and scary to wake up every hour at night to make sure she is okay. She does sleep through the night though :).

Honestly, if she has the ability to roll over, she should be ok. Do you have an angelcare motion monitor? That is such a great piece of mind

Ryan starting rolling back to belly and belly to back at 12wks and that's when I stopped swaddling and let him do it. If they're able to get that way on there own, they should be fine Chat Icon

My DS was the same way at an early age. I used the angelcare monitor for piece of mind, but I think if they can move that much they should be OK

My DD#1 was all over the crib once she started rolling. Our ped told us to take out the bumpers and anything else in the crib - and NOT to use positioners. He said once she can roll that we should put her down on her back but then to not worry about her as long as we 1) have a very firm mattress and 2) don't put her in with bumpers, blankets etc.

DD used to drive us crazy b.c she would sometimes sleep face down - but the ped said it was okay once she could roll bc she would move her head if there was a problem - provided the above issues were taken care of.
