3 y/o girl gifts...come in...
So, I'm at a loss for what to get Ava for her birthday next month. People keep asking me and I don't know what to tell them. She has plenty of outdoor toys, including a water/sand table, slide, pool, tricycle, wagon, Dora car, Barbie power wheels, gardening set, sidewalk chalk, etc., etc, etc.
Indoors, she has it all, too.
Ugg. Someone help and give me suggestions, please!
Looking for all suggestions, especially non-toy/non-clothes items!

Lauren just had her 3rd b-day. She got a ton of clothes, some bath toys, a pair of Keen sandals, and her own Leapster. She's been playing her brothers for over a year now, so we thought she would enjoy her own! My parents and my IL's also give us money toward a big gift for them, but we usually just put it towards their 529.

I got her the v smile motion game system for her birthday along with some games for it. they are all very educational.
Arts & Crafts projects are big with her right now...she loves everything in Michaels and AC Moore.
does she have a little boombox type radio/cd player? I got DD one for Easter bc she saw it at a friends house and LOVES it. She even has a few of her own kiddie cd's to go along with it.
Good thread because I need some more ideas to tell people for Alys bday too.

I would also suggest tickets to The Little Mermaid or Pinkalicious (if she is a fan)
manicure/pedicure
take her to a place to paint pottery
a day of bumper bowling
As you can see, I am big on doing things, instead of buying more "stuff".

A girl(in his class) got my child a magazine subscription and every month he gets soooooo excited when it arrives!!!

These are all such cute ideas!! My friend did a "mommy and Lea day" when her DD turned 3 in October. They went to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway and than ate at a special restaurant and went on the ferris wheel at Toys R Us in Times Square. Her DD LOVED it, and she plans on making it a tradition with her every year.

a subscription to animal baby or national geo for little kids...dd gets both and will be 3 in sept....the animal kids magazine is slightly more appropriate as the pages are better for wear and tear but dd loves each...the wwf published it....she just started the nat geo one and its cute too, she prefers animal baby...
i am with you on no more toys, etc...ss has enough and we dread what will happen when the next baby comes!!!
i know its far for you but the li children's museum in garden city is cute too...maybe a membership there if you think you would go (after three visits, it pretty much pays for itself!)

My son has a subscription to Nick Jr magazine. He loves it. We read it together and there are games you can play together.

DD turns 3 this month. We got her a portable DVD player (OK, technically it's for us and our sanity when she gets antsy and restless, but it's technically "hers"... )
Right now, her favorite toy is an Iron Man action figure with lights and sounds that DS just got for his 6th b-day...

Magazine subscription, little tykes basketball hoop, swim lessons, dance class, toddler bedding set, board games....
I am just trying to think of things I asked/people offered to get dd for her bday.

The things Alex loves to play with the most are art supplies (crayons, markers, paper, water colors, tape, glue, stickers, piping, beads, etc), dress-up costumes like snow white, cinderella, etc., her favorite movies, and her board games. She LOVES Cariboo and Hullabaloo, and she got those for her 3 year birthday from her friends.
Other than that, the creative toys are what worked best for us - someone gave us a schoolbag that she could color, a puppet making set, etc. Makes for some great rainy day activities.

I did this with Alex a few months ago, for the Cinderella ballet, and OMG, I have never seen a child beam so much. She talks about it EVERY single night and begs me to buy tickets again. I think this is a fabulous birthday gift from mommy and daddy!

I was just going to post this. My mom got it for Jack and he loves looking at all the pictures. It's made specifically for pre-schoolers
