3 year old temper tantrums.....
My sisters daughter just turned 3 in Feb, she called me before and I heard my niece screaming on the top of her lungs in the back ground, I asked what's wrong with her? My sister said she just woke up from a nap and she does this everytime. Is it common for kids to wake up screaming and crying? Shes been doing this now for a while. I'm worried about it. TIA

Re: 3 year old temper tantrums.....
Just went through this yesterday. He got up from his afternoon nap on the wrong side of the crib and he cried non-stop for an hour Nothing we did or offered to him helped. We kind of ignored it, and he just stopped eventually and was fine the rest of the night. Its not the first time it happened, so who knows why it happens. Normally he's good after a nap.

Re: 3 year old temper tantrums.....
almost two year old here, and approx 2 months ago he started waking up in a crappy mood every now and then. Its really a crap shoot maybe 75 percent of the time he's totally happy and plays till I hear him, then sometimes he's beating down the door, asking for things I can't figure out, I hold him he screams, I leave him he screams, offer him everything I can think of, and he just keeps screaming, like trish said after a while I let him roll around the floor til forgets what the problem was to begin with!

Yes, thats what my niece is doing, and its freaking my sister out. She doesnt know what to do for her, I feel so bad. Its like scary sometimes how out of no where she starts flipping out for no reason. Its so nice to know what I have to look foward too .

I would say yes. Once kids get to the age of 2, it is always a battle with them-lol!! AND, it doesn't get easier, my dd is almost 8 and she still has fits!
