30 Credits Above your MA? How'd you do it?
I am tempted to go into the CITE program but it takes 2 years. It is only 6,900. Or I could stay at SUNY Stonybrook and get the same MA in 1 year for 11,000.... thoughts?!?!? Howd you do it?

I am an NYC teacher with no plans to leave, so I did it on the cheap with KDS. 6 credits were wtih CITE but for certificate reasons.

Re: 30 Credits Above your MA? How'd you do it?
Just finished my Admin courses with CITE...it took a year for the SBL and although it was a lot of work, a good deal of it was group work which made it doable.
One thing I am glad about is that I did it before starting a family.

Re: 30 Credits Above your MA? How'd you do it?
I graduated with 12 credit above my MA. I took all the rest of my credit online with KDSI and I took a week summer class through PD. These are P credit not college credits. It was alot cheaper though.

Got my literacy certification at Hofstra. Not the cheapest way to go but I really feel like I got so much out of it that I was able to use in my classroom.

Did it cheaply through my school district's teacher center (I am not a NYC teacher).

I took 15 credits through CLEP, 9 through the UFT online classes and then started a Master's degree in School Counseling for the remaining credits.
