33 weeks PG and MOH in SIL's wedding-Question?
My SIL is getting married on March 18, 2006, I am her Matron of Honor. I have to order my dress in a like a week. I am 7w2d now.
She doesn't want me in a maternity dress so I have to wear what the other girls are wearing. The dress is A-line, strapless, chiffon, one piece
How do I calculate what size to order?

I think this is gonna be real hard...I know for me personally...these last few weeks my belly grows ever night
Something will fit me one day n not the next...I know some designers make them same dress... but in maternity...she's not willing to do this..???

That's going to be tough to figure out on your own. I would suggest to ask the shop their advice. I am in my cousin's wedding next week and when it was time to order I told the sales lady I was trying, so she just recommended a size up. I was too nervous so I made them order it 2 sizes too big because I didn't know how far along I'd be. The dress is huge, they had to do massive alterations, no biggie.
I would say go as big as possible(within a feasible range). It's easier to take in than to let out. Good Luck

I was in your exact situation. My normal size would have been like a 10 in the dress my cousin had picked out; I ordered a 16 and I thought it was going to be huge. I was right to get that size because although they had to take in the top a bit, the stomach region JUST fit. I think it's better to be safe than sorry...here's my picture at 33 weeks and a size 16!!

Re: 33 weeks PG and MOH in SIL's wedding-Question?
my best friend was 7 months PG (we got married March 7, she delived May 13) and I had only picked a color for my girls to wear from David's. Well, she ended up picking an Alfred Angelo dress at Paradise Bridal, and I went to go pick the color because she felt there were 2 that were so similar to the color I wanted. Ask if it's possible to order the dress with just some extra fabric to add to the belly region so that the rest of the dress fits elsewhere. I forgot when she ordered it, but her LAST fitting was on Wed, the wedding was on Sat.
Here is her PG belly....and as you can see her dress ended up matching PERFECTLY!!!
here is a full length shot of her...

That's exactly what my sister did for my wedding. She ordered the same dress as everyone else, but in a much larger size.

I'm sure the place where you are getting the dress from would be able to help you with sizes...or at least they'll order a size that's big enough that they'll be able to take in.

Re: 33 weeks PG and MOH in SIL's wedding-Question?
I just had a friend who got married and she is pregnant, very pregnant, with twins. When they ordered her dress, they ordered it "normal" size but made the waist something like 55". So, the only thing big was the waist.

When I ordered my dress for my friends wedding I just ordered the largest size. And they were able to take it in. There is no way to guess what size you are going to be.

Re: 33 weeks PG and MOH in SIL's wedding-Question?
For my friend's wedding where I was the MOH, one of the bridesmaids was very pregnant for the wedding. They basically ordered a bigger size then she needed so she had room to grow, and then tailored the parts down that were necessary to make the dress fit in all other areas.
Also, at David's Bridals they do have quite a few maternity dresses available that are exactly like the bridesmaid dresses, just in maternity cut.
I was 26 weeks pregnant for my wedding, so it can definately happen! For my gown, I ordered extra fabric and went to a seamstress who altered it to make sure it fit well for the wedding.
Good luck!

I would order VERY big because you can always take in. Order a plus size.

Re: 33 weeks PG and MOH in SIL's wedding-Question?
Depending on the manufacturer, most will suggest a bigger size.. Most salons carry a pregnancy pillow.. If you try this, order bigger than what u fit in using this pillow... (in your waist)..
I used to work in two bridal shops, if you want to FM me, feel free to.....

Re: 33 weeks PG and MOH in SIL's wedding-Question?
I will be almost 30 weeks for my sisters wedding this year - I just ordered the bigger size and let the lady know that I was going to be about 30 weeks preggo.
I haven't seen the dress yet - she said it should work fine and she can just take it in.
There is really no way of really know your size for sure at this point.
