Ryan Anthony 9-3-08
It all started with me hoping and wishing I was going to go into labor early. Never thought it would really happen though.
I went in for my 38 wk check up on September 2nd. I had asked them to do an internal on me since they do not start doing internals till 39 wks. Not every day would I ask my OB to do an internal on me but I really wanted to know what was going on and to see if I was dialated at all. So the doc proceeds and does the internal well let me tell ya the first sign I knew something was going on was the fact that it hurt like hell!!!!! He then tells me well you are about 2-3 cm dialated My DH freaked!!! It was so cute. He then asked me have you been feeling wet? I said a little. But I figured that was from what the doctor the wk before told me. They told me that since there is a lot of pressure on my bladder that I was leaking a little of urine. So I took the wetness feeling as my bladder leaking. Well it turns out MY WATER DID BREAK! And I did not even know it. I would always joke around with everyone I know and say how I wouldnt know when I went into labor. Well guess what? I didnt know. hahaha. The dr sends me over to the hospital where one of the other docs were. They admit me into the maternity ward. It turns out that the dr there wants to do another internal. Well within 1 hr I progressed to 3-4 cm. They started the pitocin since I didnt progress after that. I progressed to 5-6 cms and I could not take the pain anymore from the contractions and the pain from the internals. I never in my life experienced pain like that from those internals. Well I got my epidural which DID NOT hurt at all. I was all set for that to be so painful and it didnt hurt at all. A novecane needle at a dentist office is 100 times worse. Well after I had the epi. I didn't progress at all for another 6 or 7 hours. We waited patiently and nothing! The contractions seemed like they stopped. Around 5 am the dr came in to do his last internal. Still nothing. He then told me the best bet would be to do a c-section. At 5:45 they took me into the OR. I was fine until I got into the room. A little nervous I felt once I saw everything around. It was very cold in there and very surgical looking HAHAHA. They gave me some oxygen under my nose which I think is just procedure. They started once DH got into the room. They asked if I could feel anything I kept saying yes a little bit, I can. I take it they started after 5 minutes of me saying that. Lots of feeling of them working but no pain. Then the pressure!!! WOW I knew they were taking that baby out. I felt his head come out, then the rest of him. It was a very wierd feeling physically. Then we heard the littlest love of our life. we both cried and knew that moment was the best moment of our lives next to the day we got married. Well then worst thing imaginable happened I FELT EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! THE catheder moved in my back and i started crying and yelling OWWWWWWWWWW!!!. then they knocked me out. I woke up in recovery to look to my left to see my baby laying there. I was on morphine for the pain I was feeling and just remember crying from pain. I never experienced the love I felt the way I felt the first time I saw his face and the first time I heard him cry. My life felt like it had just started all over again. There truly is no other love like the love you have for your child. I knew my mother was watching down on us at that moment and knew I was feeling what she had the pleasure of feeling in her life. I truly know what she meant when she said the best time of her life was the days her babies were born. I cry just thinking about the day I gave birth to my son. The love you feel is so amazing.
I would like to introduce my beautiful baby boy.
