36 weeks appt?
I have an OB appt today, I am 2 days shy of 36 weeks. I believe that they are taking the Strep B swab today, am I also having an internal?

For that I think it depends on your OB. I remember a thread about it where someone said their doc let them do the anal swab themselves and some women had just a vaginal swab.

I had an internal at 36w6d. I had the strep b done at 35 weeks. It was just a quick swipe of the vagina and rectum. Not fun, but not so bad.

I had my first internal at 36w & the Strept B test was done. It was a quick swab of the vagina only

Same here....and they DONT go in the rectum.....not sooo bad!!!

The internal is not with the rectum. It's the Strep B swab where they sometimes take a vaginal AND anal swab.

OMG now I am getting nervous!!  I hope it doesn't hurt to badly... though I am really excited to know if I have any effacement!!
