Would you be concerned about the umbilical cord getting wrapped around the neck or body if baby seems to be a swimmer? Just a thought so I was wondering.

Baby was breech but then head down this morning when we attempted a version.

My baby never stops moving. Always turning and I've never had this thought.

It's very common for the cord to become wrapped around the baby's neck. You know my first was breech because he didn't have room to turn b/c the cord was wrapped so many times around. My second was a VBAC and she was also born with the cord wrapped around her neck. As long as you're feeling movement, don't worry!

Yes you said. Insurance doesn't cover 3D ultrasounds though. Is that the only way to diagnose the abnormality?
During labor they go by the fetal monitor to check for drop in HB so there is only so much we can control. I always feel movement so i won't worry too much. Thanks

Cord being wrapped around the neck is not an abnormality. It's actually quite common. Don't worry, they are long cords!

Yes I do worry about that. My first baby had the cord wrapped around 3 times and my fluids were low . My OB told me to stay very hydrated. The waters help the cord to never compress. It is very common, just be aware of movements Chat Icon
