3D sonograms - they freak me out
Last night was our 32 week sono and the tech did a regular sono and 3d sonograms - it was great to see the baby again because it had been more than 10 weeks since our last one - but darn those 3d sonograms spook out the heck out of me!!!
Perhaps it was because the babys hand was in front of its face for most of the time - but the images i got were freaky - i almost wished she hadn't printed them out to give to me....lol...
I literally almost told her not to do the 3D ones because to me they look so artifical and unless its a really good shot - some of them are just too wierd looking - but i tagged along and she did it anyway.
Does anyone else feel this way about 3D's?

My BIL couldn't look at them either. He kept saying that Sarah looked like an alien.
The funny thing is when we got the 3D ones I could see what the baby looked like but couldn't imagine what she would look like in real life. Once she was born, she would sometimes make a face and we'd say "OMG! That was totally what she looked like in the sonogram!" It's really weird.

Re: 3D sonograms - they freak me out
I think they're pretty cool.
When my older sister was pregnant with her second, she showed her u/s picture (regular picture) to her 3 year old son and explained that was his baby sister. The kids was petrified his sister was a skeleton & no one could convince him otherwise until he saw her for himself.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. My daughters cheeks are so fat that she looks like a full blown infant(and this was at 26 weeks) LOL

They are kinda freaky, but cool. My MIL was like don't put that on your fridge. She's kinda freaky too though
I just think technology today is amazing!

Re: 3D sonograms - they freak me out
I was wondering if you all had to pay for them or if it was covered by insurance?

Re: 3D sonograms - they freak me out
Mine was also covered by my insurance and was done at my doctors office at my 32 week visit - funny thing is I didn't even ask them to do it - the tech just wanted to give it a try after doing the regular sono -
