3rd party amazon seller making us pay for refund shipping
I bought a laptop on amazon from a 3rd party vendor. The laptop arrived cracked. They will accept a return but are making me pay for shipping.
Does this sound right? Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

I could see if it was an exchange, but for an item that arrived damaged. Id call Amazon.

Absolutely not. I'd also contact Amazon and if that doesn't help, I'd contact the vendor directly and give 'em hell.

I have kept items in the past because the return was a hassle. Those were for non defective items though. This is a laptop that cannot be used.

For a defective item you should get shipping fees back.
If they are not willing to pay for this, call your credit card company and file a dispute.

Contact Amazon.
I just bought something from a 3rd party vendor and it came broken (it's a toy puppy that's supposed to bark and doesn't). I emailed the 3rd party through Amazon expressing my disappointment and they shipped me a new one for free and aren't making me send the old one back at all.

Contact Amazon customer service. They were great to deal with on an issue I had similar to yours.

I ended up leaving negative feedback for the vendor. They said they will email me a fedex label later today and to please remove the negative feedback.
So annoying that they would not respond previously.
