3rd tri ladies/btdt moms!?! dialation question
at what week did you start to dialate? i am about 35 weeks my dr. did the strep b test as well as an internal but no dialation just yet is this normally the case?

I went in at 39 weeks to be induced due to my GD and wasn't even fingertip dialated. On the other side of that my SIL who gave birth a day after me was 2cm dialated for 3.5 weeks.

I had an internal the day I went into labor and was only 1cm....that was at 38 weeks

I was 1 cm dilated and 50% efface at my first internal at 36 weeks. I was 2 cm and 80% effacted at 37 weeks and stayed that way until I went into labor 1 day before my due date.
Some women are dilated for weeks before labor and some aren't dilated at all before they go into labor. Everyone is different.

I went past 41 weeks without dilation or contractions. I ended up with an elective c-section. DD just didn't want to come out.

I was 1 cm at my 39 week appt. on a Thursday-then by Sunday I was 5cm, and she was born :)

I was 1cm dilated at my first internal which was at 36 weeks I believe...
Then I was 2cm dilated at my 38 week internal. 3cm at my 39 week internal... had my baby that night.

My sister was only a fingertip dialated and 90% effaced at her last internal and she ended up going into labor and having the baby the next morning. She dialated to 10 centimeters in less than 6 hours.
