3rd trimester cramps

I am scheduled to give birth at the end of the month & last night I was having bad cramps (felt like AF) that went around to my back. It lasted on & off for like 2 hours. I was minutes away from going to the hospital because it was making me nervous. Feels better now. Was it possibly contractions? Anyone else experience this for this long? I've had the Af type cramps but they always went away quickly.

I get confused all of the time now. I get AF cramps a lot. Sometimes worse than others and for long periods of time. But so far nothing that is so painful that I cannot bare it. When I talked to my doctor about it at the last appt. he said it was going to keep happening until the end. Just the body preparing itself. Who knows!!!
