3rd Trimester girls...have you noticed the "look" change?

About a month or two ago, everywhere I went people looked lovingly at my belly.

Gentle smiles and knowing glances. The world was happy to see me walking around with my little belly.

Flash forward to now...and I'm starting to see a very different reaction from people.

Kind of a panicked, pitying stare.

It's a mixture between "Oh, that poor thing" and "My god, I hope she doesn't have that thing here!"

Anyone else seeing the change?? Chat Icon

Definitely! Yesterday, I went to the grocery store and I got "OMG you poor thing" look. When the cashier asked me when I was due, I said yesterday. She couldn't believe I was up and about.

OMG yes!!!! Over the weekend, I went to Target, the bagel store, the grocery store, and the car wash and at every place I got this look almost like, "I can't believe she's out travelling alone."

I used to think I looked much younger than I am (I'm 33) and in the beginning I got the "that girl got herself into trouble" look - and then they'd look for a wedding ring.

It's been a while since I dyed my hair so I have some grey hairs showing and maybe my face has changed somewhat maybe I look my age now- cause now I get the "oh she's pregnant, that's nice" face. . . yet they're still not getting up to offer me their seat on the subway!Chat Icon

I get the same thing!

And then when people ask me when I am due they look at me like I have 5 heads when I give them my due date.

I don't get out much these days as I am working from home but I get the I can't beleive you are delivering in 5 weeks since I am not that big.

Now when I see my boss you would think I was giving birth any second. I think I scare him. he prefers when I don't come to the office Chat Icon

The lady at the post office decided I was in pain today when I reached for my belly...I wanted to shoot her. Hormones. Chat Icon She deduced this b/c I wasn't smiling...I had a whole speech in my head, I refrained. Chat Icon

That's too funny! Today some of the ladies I work with noticed I've stopped walking and now waddle instead. They make jokes about my not making it to my due date. I have 12 more weeks! Chat Icon

I get quacked at occasionally. Chat Icon I work in construction so really it doesn't shock or bother me...but it's stupid. I am able to laugh it off completely! I have been waddling for quite some time now...before it was more for ease, now it's to be in less "pain."

I had to find this again, because someone JUST said to me -

"Oh...looks like you are entering the ducky stage."

I was like "huh?"

And she said "You know - QUACK QUACK WADDLE WADDLE."

I just looked at her and she says...

"I mean it in a good way."

Re: 3rd Trimester girls...have you noticed the "look" change?

I got something today from an "aquaintence". She was like "you haven't had your baby yet?" I was like "No... june" and she made a comment like "oh boy... more to go??"

1st I felt like telling her that I actually LOVE being pregnant and I'm actually quite upset that I only have 2 months to go.

Then, I felt like ripping into her and her VERY not so perfect life and tell her just what I thought of her! Chat Icon Chat Icon
