4 months, 32oz formula, stopped sttn (only got 5 days). What is it - Growth spurt? Gas? Hunger? He just wants to drive mommy crazy?

After 5 days of bliss (for mommy and daddy), my DS decided he was going to stop STTN

It was so short-lived, it hurts. He was doing 10-11 hours. Now, he's waking 2-3 times a night again (for past 3 nights).

Prior to STTN, he had 32 oz in 5 bottles. Post-STTN, went down to 28oz - 4 bottles. He was fine for 5 days.

Last night he was starving! The poor child inhaled his 7 oz bottle at 4:45 AM. Before that he woke up at 2AM and could not settle down even in my arms. Kicking, grunting, and farting up a storm.

Is there a growth spurt that happens now and it happens to be 5 days after he sttn

Can a baby have more than 32oz of formula? He tried oatmeal last week but he wasn't ready.

I don't know anything about formula, but it's very common for babies to go through a sleep regression at 4 months. It never really happened to DS since he was nowhere close to STTN at that age. Hopefully it will get better soon.

I know a lot of babies go through a sleep regression around 4 months.

I would also give the oatmeal another try....it takes a few times for them to get the hang of it. Make is super thin and put a little at a time on the spoon -- my DS took to it right away but my nephew didn't. My SIL tried every few days and he all of a sudden got it.

How many ounces are his daytime bottles now? Can you increase those to make up for the missed bottles? My DS and DD were drinking 5 ounces and once they started STTN I had to increase their daytime bottles to 6-7oz because they were hungry.

Does it make you feel any better that my DS is around the same age as yours and has NEVER STTN??

I think they do also have a growth spurt at this age.

Growth spurt and sleep regression. If you do a search for 4 months you will probably find 42 billion posts. But he will STTN again

My DD stopped sttn at exactly 4 months to the day. We are still waiting for her to sttn again at almost 11 months...

DS is almost 5 months old and has never given us a 10 hour stretch! I would have loved 5 nights of uninterrupted sleep That being said, i would try to make sure he gets enough to eat during the day so he has enough calories to make it through the night. Good luck
