4 neighborhood kids came over today to swim...
and I am exhausted! I can teach 25 kids at a time during the school year and be fine, but SEVEN kids in my IG pool at once is challenging. The only adult, one of the children cant swim (hes 6), my 3 year old is wearing floaties... One ends up with a spontaneous bloody nose, one stubs his toe and the 6 year old almost drowns. They finally all left and now my MIL and nephew are coming over. Sometimes it stinks having a pool on a hot day. You are never free of company LOL
On a side note, if you are sending your child over to someones house in a bathing suit (without an invite) make sure you send them with a floatation device. It really was not fair of me to have to watch this energetic kid who doesnt listen like a HAWK. (Our company yesterday ripped the last pair of floaties) Ugh the anxiety.
Their ages BTW were 3, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 10

I would have never ever, EVER taken on that responsibility. Although it was very nice of you, it is just too risky!!

I agree. I think you need to set limits. That's just not a safe environment for anyone.

yeah maybe. Ive decided that Im not letting that child over in the pool again unless mom sends him with a lifevest of some sort. I was a lifeguard for years and am used to watching much more than 7, however this is my vacation too! LOL Its been exhausting.

Re: 4 neighborhood kids came over today to swim...
i had a playdate on thursday and had 13 children in my pool...even though its a 12 ft intex metal frame pool.... it was still alot of kids...all of the moms stayed and we hung out while the kids all played it ended up to be a great time, there were 5 moms total so there were more eyes to watch everyone...maybe next time, ask the mom(s) to stay (even though you may not always want to chat or have company over, not sure how close you are with the neighborhood moms) but sometimes it better than having the responsibility on your own with so many children. And i would Definitley tell them to bring their own flotation device as well as towels and their own sunblock!

Re: 4 neighborhood kids came over today to swim...
what i was trying to say is...next time, dont allow the neighborhood kids to come over UNLESS they have their parent with them so your not responsible for so many kids...only allow them to come in the pool with their parenets there or they cant swim
