4 weeks home and I am starting to go stir crazy- when can we leave the house?
DD is a month old, we have gone for walks outside but it's too chilly now. I'm really starting to get cabin fever! Did everyone wait till 8 weeks before venturing out in public? I would never put her in harms way of course, but 4 more weeks inside this house just may do my head in

I went to a party at 3.5 weeks...and went out to other places as well, and just kept DD away from others (didn't let them touch her etc)

We started going out immediately. DD was born in January so as long as she was bundled up, we took walks. We also went out in public - I just kept her shielded - your dc should be fine as long as strangers aren't touching her or breathing on her, which they won't in her stroller if you her covered and the shade up anyway. Strangers didn't start trying to touch DD until more recently (she's 10 1/2 months now).

I went to the mall after her 2 week check up and went to a baby shower when she was 1 month....DD was born in July

I started taking her out in public at 10 days...kept her carseat shade down so people wouldn't really see her, and of course did not let anyone breathe on her. I could never stay in the house long I'd go nuts. g

same but you should get out. keep DC in te car seat bundled up, go early when there are less crowds. I took DS to kohls or cvs and some other places, i was going nuts!

DD was a December baby and I stayed in for the full 8 weeks..I was really anal...I would go out to do my nails/hair etc on the weekends and to shop just to get out but I didn't really go out with her until her 8 week shots!

Ive had my dd out since she was 2 weeks old. We started out by going to my parents n IL's house just to get out i could not sit home, Then agt 3 weeks i went to the outlets and the mall. As long as there bundled up good n no one is touching them it should be fine.

Honestly, I took DS everywhere with us after a few weeks. As long as no one touches him, we really did not see the reason to stay in.
I was going nuts myself after the first week or 2 sitting home.

DD was out within a week. She was a summer baby BUT even with a winter baby I would just bundle her up and take her to the mall or wherever and put the bug net over the carrier so no one can touch her.

DD was an early December baby. I waited until January to take her to the mall etc, but DH took me out to dinner several times before she was a month old.

I had a January Baby and a March baby and I was out within about 10 days, I couldn't bear to stay at home. I went to babygroups, to shops everything. Get out there if you want!

Hell no! I took DS out at about 3 or 4 weeks. We went to the mall and walked around for a while.
My reasoning was that he was in his stroller... no one was going to touch him.

DS was born in Feb... we went to a few places once in awhile while it was still cold out... he was about a month old. I say as long as no one touches him (like strangers) your good to go! Walk the mall or something. lol

I took DS out right away but he was born at the end of June and people still scared me. I know I would be so scared during cold and flu season. 
Do you go outside for walks?
ETA: Okay, just saw you said it is too cold. I would just bundles yourselves up really well and continue on your walks. I took out DS the other day and it was freezing but he was in his fleece coveralls and had a blanket on top. I put down the shade of my city mini to block additional wind. When I took him out he was way warmer than me!
