I'm hoping someone has experience with this too
I went for my cd10 appointment today....first cycle on Letrozole and Metformin. Anyways the doctor had a hard time finding my left ovary.....which is nothing new. (My last RE could never find it using the internal sonogram either but once they did the sono from on top of my belly they could locate it right away.) The new RE is saying that the fact that my left ovary is up so high...there could be a problem with conceiving if I ovulate from that side. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Re: I'm hoping someone has experience with this too
I'm really early in this game (waiting for AF for CD3 blood tests & HSG).
My left ovary is sitting it a strange position...kind-of TUCKED away behind my uterus. Right one is fine. No problems w ovary looks...both are good size & cute & with good follicles & no cysts. Uterus is cute too w nice lining.
I asked my RE about this: he said that it could be something...or nothing. Scarring can move ovaries or they could just be in that position naturally.
I have no history of surgery or abdominal issues (inflammation) which would make us think that this is scarring & create a problem with the egg that is released to get to the fallopian tube (must be swept in & if there is scarring or abnormality...this may be difficult), but he says sometimes inflammation is asymptomatic....which means in my mind...it could be something. BUT...if one is working...I should still get pregnant...but slower.
On the other hand, he said it could just be an anatomical variation. Maybe that ovary is just fine.
So: I asked what we should do. I have yet to get the HSG. I have been doing OPT for a year now & know that I ovulate regularly...
His advice (which I liked) was... We run tests & start IUIs if all is normal. He could look laprascopically & see if there are adhesions/scarring...but the next step would be IVF. I'm happy doing IVF...and this bypasses so many problems. So...we bypass any surgery & go to IVF.
