Do you eat dinner at the table or infront of the boob tube?

DH have gotten into a very bad habit of eating in front of the TV. Sidney is now 4 months old and since we will be starting solids soon I was wondering if we should start eating at the table? What do you all do? And if your baby is not on solids yet where do you put the baby while you eat?

We eat at the dinner table, although we can see the TV from the table. DH and I prefer to talk while we rather than watching TV. DS is usually asleep when we eat. If he is awake then he sits in his highchair or plays on the floor with his toys.

We still eat in front of the TV but we agreed that we need to break this habit especially once DD starts eating. Right now its hard because we eat in shifts since she's rarely sleeping when its dinnertime.

We eat dinner at the table - no TV on. That's how my family always ate dinner. DH's family always at dinner with the TV. He wouldn't have it any other way (except for maybe when the Jets are on -but the TV remains off). I feel like that's family time - time to go over your day, etc.

DH is working at dinnertime, so I feed Christopher and then eat in front of the TV. It stinks, but hopefully DH will be changing his hours soon and we'll all be able to eat together.

We eat at the table every night. We do snack in the living room though.

We eat at the dinner table every night, Julia sits in her swing or exersauser and just looks at us eating--lol I feel its a good habit to get into with your kids even at a young age.

We eat at the dinner table unless something special is on then we eat in the LR. The baby sits in the swing or on mommys lap if he's no cooperating .

table - we dont watch much tv to begin with... i wouldnt even tolerate it to be on in another room...

DH and I eat in front of the tv. Our son is 9 months and we don't eat dinner at the same time as him - actually we eat at 9:30 now - after we put him to bed. He eats his dinner at 6pm and aren't even home from work by then. We get home 7ish so we like to spend all that time hanging out with him. So I cook quick dinners while DH puts the baby to bed at 9. When he was younger and went to be later we would eat in the living room in front of the tv with him between us in the bouncer. When our son is fed it is always in the kitchen in his high chair.

We eat at the table 29 out of 30 nights. We try to have family time. The TV is always off when we are at the table but of course there is that one night we get finger food and camp out in the living room.

We eat dinner at the table although marissa sometimes doesn't want to sit at the table she wants to run around but she comes to the table and will eat and run around and then come back to the table for more

Even before Jack, we always ate at the table and I try not to have the TV on. DH's family has a TV in the kitchen so they always eat with it on. Totallyopposite in my house. Now that Jack is 1 we all sit at the table and eat, no TV. Most of the time I feed him most of his dinner first, then he sits in his highchair and either finishes eating or looks at a book or just sits there.

We always ate at the dinner table.. because of my back with this pregnancy I have been eating on the couch.. DH and DS have been at the table for the most part.. but DS keeps asking for me.. I want to break that habit ASAP, but I need comfier chairs for my dining set!! LOL!
