My first RE Appointment
Hey gals!! I have been posting on the TTC section but just realized there is one for infertility!! I feel like a ditz. The 20th is my first RE visit. What will happen? Should DH go? Thanks. You are all awesome!!

I would have DH go.
When I went for mine, they asked me about my medical history, took height and weight and consulted me on their process and protcol. Due to the insurance I have, they weren't allowed to touch me on the first visit so I had to go back the next day for an U/S. They also gave us both prescriptions for bloodwork, HSG, SA, etc.

Thanks. I will try to convince him to go. The whole thing really freaks him out because he is not as educated about the female body as I.  But I should have all his history with me if not correct? Thanks for the advice.

DH came with me to the first appointment...I was glad he was there. We went over previous test results, medical history, questions about how long we have been trying and what their protocol was. I had an ultrasound that day and went back the following day to give about 15 vials of blood!

DH came with me and I'm happy he did for the same reasons previous posters have mentioned. Besides, he needed to sign some forms while he was there anyway. I just talked about different options on my first day and then had bloodwork and an u/s done the same day. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, he can't get off work. He got off work early yesterday for his SA. So now I have to go by myself. Now what????

My dh didn't go with me on my initial consult. As long as you know his medical history he really doesn't need to be there. They are going to send you to get tons of bloodwork anyway. Hopefully they will do an ultra sound.
