Year of Magical Thinking

I just finished this book by Joan Didion (about the year of mourning after her husband' death) and found it to be very moving and well written. It left me feeling profoudly sad though. Did anyone else read it?

I did read it and thought it very well written. It was doubly sad that her daughter was so sick at the same time. I believe she died a short time after as well.

Maybe it's just me, but I felt as if she were writing as if she was the only woman who ever became a widow.
