North Carolina Ladies- silly questions I have to ask you

OK, first...my DH would like to know what are the supermarket chains in NC. He is the food shopper and he is very curious.

Also, when we move down there (yes, it is an almost definite)...we plan on NOT taking any of our furniture. Being that High Point, NC is the furniture capital of the country...is it very cheap to buy furniture once we are in NC... rather than having our furniture sent down. (Please say yes because I'd love to buy brand new stuff!Chat Icon )

One last question...we plan on vacationing down there in the spring. Can you tell me some fun recreational things we can do with the kids and my parents? Thanks soooooooooooooo much, ladies!!!Chat Icon

Ingles, Kroger, Walmart Super Center, Food Lion, Publix and a few other smaller ones...

Super Target is not everywhere because Ingles doesn't allow it.

As for vacationing, there is tons to do! Lakes, parks, camping, mountains, etc.

Good luck! Chat Icon

hey,

i live in durham, and our major supermarket chains are harris teeter, kroger, and food lion.

i would definitely buy furniture in high point! just be prepared to wait a while for it. by far the best furniture place we found was furnitureland south - it is absolutely amazing - but we did wait 8-12 weeks for all of our furniture.

FM me if you'd like more NC info Chat Icon

Re: North Carolina Ladies- silly questions I have to ask you

Hi! We shop at Lowes Food Store, Harris teeter, and Walmart Super Center. They don't have the same supermarkets in name, but they are basically the same set up. IMO, I think they are even better because they have little shopping carts for the kiddies to push around! I wish I had a pic to post. Walmart is also amazing down here for shopping and has very good sales. NOTHING like the walmart's in NY. As for furniture shopping definitely buy down here. You can start looking online at roomstogo.com, furniturelandsouth.com, and I am sure there are a ton more if you google it. Good luck! You won't regret the move. We love it down here!

That sounds soooo cute about the little shopping carts. My boys will have a BALL with that! Chat Icon

And furniture...I am VERY excited. According to my husband, "We're not taking a THING with us." Yay!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I LOVE furniture shopping and decorating!!Chat Icon Chat Icon I will definitely check out those furniture places!!

As for fun things to do in NC...anyone have any recommendations? We are kind of a hodge-podge of a group that are going down there in the spring to look for houses/ land. It includes me, DH and our 2 sons ages 4 1/2 and 16 months. ALso includes my mother, father, aunt and uncle. Any recommendations for recreational activities (OR GREAT Italian restaurants), I would TRULY appreciate it!Chat Icon
