Kitchen Designer?
Can anyone recommend a very good kitchen designer? I don't want to curse the location of my cutlery drawer for the next 20 years. I need a layout that makes sense.

Consumers will do 3 plans for you. My girlfriend just had them in to take measurements for the plans.

I went to Home Depot and paid $100 for a design, but wasn't entirely satisfied with it.

Consumers Kitchen and Bath. They have a few locations, the one that I can think of offhand is on Hempstead Tpke across from Nassau Medical Center.

You might want to try Lowes. Or HD Home Expo. One of those stores offered me a free design... but that might have been a temporary special they were running.

David Williams, of David Williams Design in Mt. Sinai is wonderful.
Also, Bayview Kitchens is great, they are in St. James and Port Jefferson Station.
The Kitchen Lady in Northport Village.
Good luck, can't wait for you to post pics!

 I was wondering if someone would catch on. Yes, he is a kitchen designer and has other guys do the work. He is really busy until the spring and I don't think he is taking on any new clients for a few months (he is semi-retired). Mostly because we just bought a house that needs over $150K worth of work done to it and he is acting as our general contractor.
I can ask him. FM me if you are interested. I'm a PITA when it comes to home improvements and all must be perfect. He is meticulous and very professional unlike most contractors who won't even show up or return your calls. If he wasn't in the business I would have been very hesistant to buy the house I did.
He did the kitchen in our first house (last January) and now our second.
