Finding out the sex? (poll)
Everyone keeps telling me I'm crazy for not finding out the sex of my baby! I'm wondering how many people do, and how many don't...

I really feel that people are waaaay too opinionated on this subject. You need to do what you feel is right for you. I was on the fence and DH definitely wanted to know. You wouldn't believe how many people gave their opinions (i.e. DH's grandma snidely remarking "well ***(my SIL) didn't find out. Why would you want to?? Well to each his own, I guess... or DH's mother after me telling her how exciting it was finding out "Well, that's what you would have felt the day you gave birth" As if I am not going to be excited THAT day too!) We found out and it was a really special time for us. SORRY SO LONG!

I really wanted to find out and so did dh. I can understand why the surprise would be nice though- I think it is a personal decision too.

We're not going to find out and I get "then you will have to decorate the nursery in yellows and greens. You WANT that?" and "oh come on now, it's a surprise when the Dr. tells you at the sono...isn't that surprise enough?" and the best one yet was "that's what we have technology for! Why are you going against it?"

My husband and I decided not to find out. When people ask me if I know what I am having, I just respond by saying, "Yes, a baby!"

We didn't find out w/ a first nor do we know what we are having now. And everyone who asks me "what are you having" My answers are usually "twins or babies" You should see the looks I get from strangers because I didn't find out. I'm like MY BUISNESS, MY WOMB!! MYOB!!!

It's such a personal decision. I personally think technology has gone too far in this dept. We're not finding out. To me and my DH there is nothing like having that moment in the delivery room, after waiting and wanting so long to hear those words - it's a BOY or it's a GIRL! And for DH, that'll be his crowning moment - walking into the waiting room to be the one to tell all our friends and family whether we have a son or daughter.

I really want to find out because I am a planner. My DH wants to be surprised. I would feel more comfortable having all the clothes ready, etc.
The only thing I hate is that people always ask are you going to find out???? I personally think it is rude. It is decision between the parents.

DH and I definitely want to know.. but I agree , this is an ENTIRELY personal choice and I cannot believe people have the audacity to criticize whether you choose to find out or not 
BUT I actually am debating whether or not telling the rest of the world about what we're having.. I might have it be DH & my little secret

Me too!!! I just couldn't live 9 months without knowing. Its killing me now and I'm only at 7 weeks!

I'm glad that we didn't find out. People bug us about it all the time. I entirely aggree that it's a personal decision. Most people I know find out. For me, I just want the super surprise. Plus I like having a few names in mind, and when we see our babies face that's when we'll know which name fits it best.
BTW, the poll results are impressive. I didn't realize so many people were on this board!

Although I would like to find out what I'm having...I decided I want it to be a surprise so, we have not found out. My DH on the other hand, really really wants to know.
I just like the idea of the BIG surprise the day this baby pops out...I can't wait!!!!!!!

It is very hard but we aren't finding out for this one. We had a surprise the first time, we found out for the second and since this our last time, we wanted to keep the element of surprise. Let me tell you, it is VERY hard to do!!! Luckily my nursery is neutral from when we did it for the first one but I get alot of sonograms and I have plenty of opportunity to peek, so it does take some will power!!

Lol, today when she was showing me the view down from the baby's feet, I SWEAR I saw a turtle-looking thing! Lol! But I'm trying not to jump to conclusions because we decided we wanted it to be a surprise!

We will find out the sex. Originally I didn't want to know, DH REALLY wants to find out. But I truly don't think I can wait, the suspense is already killing me and I am only 8 weeks
The ONLY reason I want to find out is to get everything ready. We may keep it our little secret.
