How long does your maternity clothing last?

I keep hearing people say that you may outgrow your maternity clothes. I thought they were designed to grow with you.

How long do you get out of them? Is it like you are okay until the last month? Has anybody worn the same things until the end? What am I in for?

I was a medium pre preggo and I bought all large maternity and it carried through until now (7 months).

Some of my things fit the entire time. I had a lot of shirts that were t-shirt type material and sweaters - those fit me the whole 9 mos. But my other shirts - button down shirts and blouses - I outgrew. They just dont stretch like the other shirts. Next time I wont bother buying them bc it was a waste IMO.

As for pants, I wore size S/M until about 7-8mos and then the last month or two I was wearing a few Ms but mostly size L

i bought alot of things a size bigger at around 4 1/2 months so I can use them for the rest of my pg and so far so good Im 6 1/2 months and they still fit with plenty of room

Everyone grows differently , so sometimes you will need 2 diff sizes to make it thru your pregnancy..

I was able to get away with my maternity clothes for pretty much the entire pregnancy. I was a late bloomer but was into maternity fully by 24 weeks. Up until the past few weeks, everything still fit..

Lately some of my pants are way too snug and some shirts dont fit either.. but most stuff is still ok.. this only started around 32 weeks, because I recently just got really big and very quickly towards the end now. At nearly 35 weeks I'm just going to make due with what I have, I refuse to spend anymore $$ for 5 weeks or so!!

So far (I'm 31 weeks) I have not outgrown any of my maternity clothes. I was a size small before and bought smalls in maternity.

I can't tell you how much money I wasted on maternity clothes. Even some of the t-shirts are too short now.

The pants fit me until about 24 weeks, then I had to get all new pants. but, I had to start maternity clothes early...at like 12 weeks. The things that have stayed with me are knit pants and stuff like that. I agree with MrsJ about the button down shirts and stuff. I used to get L and they fit perfectly, now I need XXL

Also, it depends on how you carry. I am carrying low, so pants are very uncomfortable.

I grew out of EVERYTHING. I started off buying Mediums are they were baggy, but by 20 weeks, they were worthless.

The only thing that last me is undies and maternity bra. My shirts are too short. My pants are too tight. My rear got bigger, so its not just belly. I realize now, that I should have bought full panel jeans from the start.

I wore a small or extra small pre- pregnancy and wore small and extra small (harder to find!) matenrity clothes all along so far......and at this point i don't think it'll change (or it better not with less than two weeks! )

I tried to buy everything in Mediums, even though many things were kind of big at the begining. Now all of my mediums fit, but a couple of things I needed to buy in small are now too tight. And I do have one pair of pants in a large, but I'm convinced that they just run really small because every other brand's large are way too big.

When I first bought maternity clothes I bought a bunch of smalls and they were all huge on me. Now some of them do not fit or I just wear the pants so low - under my belly. Tops that I bought in a small are too short now.

A few weeks ago I started buying mediums in everything - which is prbably what I should have done from the begining. But I think it all depends on how you carry. Instead of buying a ton at a time, I buy little bits here and there.

I was a small in shirt and pants- starting about 12 weeks or so?

Then, I had to cut the panel on the smalls- really stupid because now i cant wear them for another pregnancy- but they got so tight in the belly! (I'm glad they still fit in the butt though).

So, now I am in M/L for shirts and mediums for pants.

I started a large in pants (I was a size 8 pre prego and now I'm a size 12 in Gap Maternity ), but so far they are still comfy...however since I'm carrying alot in the belly my M shirts are getting tight and short. I'm probably going to be in L for the last 2 months
