dh take on the ice skating at the olympics
sasha cohen is in firstplace after the short program. the media isn't focusing on her. she had a 2 second clip on the news. the media is focusing on emily hughes. i could see his point. put i was glad when i saw i think the ny post and they put sasha on the back page. they really didn't mention the other american skater

I didn't even realize there was a 3rd olympic skater until I saw her last night. She even finished ahead of Emily Hughes so I think it's totally rude how they never even mentioned her name yet Emily hughes makes the front page

i wonder how the toher us olympic skaters feel with the media concentrating on one person

Don't forget, Emily is from LI so the local papers will be focusing on her. Besides, the media focusing away from Sasha may be a good thing for her.

we understand that, but we were talking about the news. the media staying away from sasha could help her. i read on a site this morning that the russian girl wasn't happy that she's in 2nd place

yes, but another reason why they are focusing on Emily is because she's Sarah's sister. Lightening striking twice and all that jazz.

I'm glad Sasha's in 1st - I don't like Emily Hughes at all. She's not graceful.
I just hope Sasha keeps it up - Slutskyia (sp) (and most Russians for that matter- its a cultural thing) comes through in high-pressure situations.

AGREED Im sure in the city that sasha is from the media is doing the same as LI is doing for Emily.
