do you pull the shades and make it dark - or keep it light in the room?

I close the shades, Julia sleeps longer that way.

Wherever she is napping I try to make it as dark as possible.

we usually pull the shades but he doesn't seem to ming either way.

I always pull the shade, but it still lets light in. He's out once he hits the crib lately.
