An update regarding the adoption situation...
A few months ago I posted about my Mom wanting to adopt a little boy. I was pregnant at the time, and I felt somewhat uncomfortable with it, but not just for that reason.
Anyway, what I did was, I sent her a supportive email though I did voice my concerns regarding the whole international adoption process and the fact that this boy's mother was still very very young and may change her mind later.
I never voiced my concerns regarding how her relationship with her grandson may or may not be affected. I thought that maybe that was being selfish.
She responded that she was going to take her time to consider everything very carefully and that she would not go into this decision lightly, which is all I really wanted her to do.
We never spoke of it again. Mostly because I won't bring it up. I have no idea if she is still researching or if she is still planning on doing it.
What I did find out just last week is interesting though. My grandmother came in for a visit from DR. Well, she had no qualms about voicing how STRONGLY AGAINST this adoption she is. Her and my grandfather both do not want my mother to go through with it. And while she was here my grandmother was trying to get all the brothers and sisters (yes, the other 9 of them ) to agree with her.
I suspect that my grandmother's strong feelings about this will definitely sway my mother's decision if they haven't already. I can't be sure though because I don't see why she would be so actively campaigning against it if it wasn't still in the works.
Am I weird because I just rather NOT know what's going on until the outcome is decided? I honestly think I rather just deal with it if it happens (happy, sad, unsure, whatever it may be) and not stress myself by putting in any input or trying to convince my mom either way. I just feel that ultimately it's her decision and she'll do what she wants anyway and her life will go and so will mine, end of story.
I promise I will update again once I know anything new.

glad everything is ok!!!
I don't think you are weird at all for not wanting to stress about it until you have a real answer. It will just make you crazy in the meantime.

I am obviously missing some info about your situation. All I can say, is that I hope your mother is going in with the adoption process with only good intentions and not for her own needs. If that is the case, I am all for the adoption. Of course, I feel like I am missing why you would be upset.

I don't think you need to be involved in all the drama. You said your peace, and that's it. When the decision is made (which is her decision to make), then you can deal with it.
There are so many things we stress that never happen. Especially being pregnant- I try to focus only on the things I have control over.
I think no matter what your mom decides you should be happy for her. It's important that you can be supportive- no matter what the outcome. It may even bring you closer to be raising kids together- you never know.
