Can first time homebuyers share some tips?
Any programs for first time buyers? Any way to wrap closing costs into the mortgage? Any advice? We are both clueless with this aspect of life, we don't know where to begin!

I know of a program for teachers that really reduces closing costs. I think it's available for police/fire dept. too.

You can incorporate the closing costs into the mortgage -

I sent you a FM Scott with more info. Generally, as a perk to union member the bank's fees at closing are paid for and you are only responsible for the mandatory fees (like title ins., recording, etc.). They also have discounted H.O. Ins. and attorney services.

Re: Can first time homebuyers share some tips?
there are tons of programs for first time buyers.....ask your broker.
The key is to find a GREAT broker that will do whatever it takes to make a home work for you!!
You can ask about 100% financing.
