Did anyone not getting a bedding set?
I'm trying to decide if I should get a bedding set? My SIL said it's a waste because I won't be able to use the blanket and shouldn't use the bumper for awhile.
So...did anyone not get a bedding set and just get some sheets and a lamp and accessories to decorate the baby's room?

I didn't! I use the mesh bumpers, baby blankets and have yet to get a dust ruffle. I don't know, do peaople actually use the comforter part of a bedding set?

I do. I have ever since Andrew could roll over. He usually ends up kicking it off and/or laying on top of it.

I didn't get any bedding. In my opinion its just expensive decoration and not necessary. You can't use a comforter for babies until they are at least 12 months and bumpers are dangerous for babies!
So no bedding for us. Although I was tempted by the baby bedding at Dwell...

Re: Did anyone not getting a bedding set?
I didn't - and I don't regret it for a second. It's nice for decoration - but she never used a blanket, plus I was never really comfy with the bumpers. If I had them - they would have already been out of the crib by now since she is rolling over, sitting up and standing in the crib.
You could always buy a dust ruffle (Which I did) a solid bumper, and some nice sheets (I bought some pretty ones at Target.

I did but you really don't need it. Now I am constantly looking for someplace to store it.
I think you can just buy a bumper. I know I have seen them at BBB. That is what I should have done.

Re: Did anyone not getting a bedding set?
I didn't get a bedding set. I knew I wouldn't ever use the bumpers or comforter. I got a comfy flannel safety sheet and a dust ruffle (which also had to come off after the crib was lowered at 8 months). It would have been a waste of money. Buy a second stroller instead! hehe

Re: Did anyone not getting a bedding set?
I didn't get a set, but I did get separates. Caidens room when he was a baby was Cat in the Hat/Dr. Seuss. Since there was no sets for that I did a red bumper, white sheet, and red ruffle. Then I got all the accessories for it for the room. Much cheaper. I got the lamp, clock, a beautiful wall hanging (nice afghan), pail, rug, my mom made the curtains, etc., so everything matched.
If we do get a set this time around I will not use the comforter. It's definitely not safe for the baby. I would hang it on the wall. I didn't use a blanket for Caiden until he was over 1.5 years. Mommy's paranoia (sp?)
