He seems like he is in pain or something. He scratches apart his face and rubs it into his sheets.

What can I do? I can't ask ped because she keeps saying it's cradle capChat Icon

try .5% hydrocortizone. I use it sometimes because DS gets it bad in certain creases on his body. It would get really raw and he would scratch so I use that cream and it really helps.

What does it look like? Brendan has eczema which starts out like tiny red bumps, but it will progress to large red patches that will ooze. Keeping the skin moisturized is the best thing. I mosturize him at least twice a day. I have tried so many different creams and lotions and I have found Eucerin cream (the kind that comes in the tub) to be the best. Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Healing Lotion is pretty good too. We also have to use a prescription steroid cream because it is so bad. The hydrocortizone just wasn't enough. Other things to do are washing clothes and bedding in Dreft or other hyoallergenic detergent and double rinsing, keep baths short and only 2x a week in lukewarm water. Gentle Naturals makes an eczema wash that is very good.

Re: Andrew has eczema. What can I do?

my ped recommended aveeno bath soap and lotion. DS had it on his cheeks, at night i did use a hydrocortizone, it takes awhile to go away and it still come back every so often. Just keep his skin as hydrated as possible also do not keep him in the tub too long the soap in the water can be drying to his skin GL!

make sure everything you use on him is non fragranced including laundry detergent, soaps, etc. My DH has horrible eczema but I "cured" him by using all non scented lotions, soaps, etc We found that a lot of what people think is eczema is something called contact dermatitis. Good luck
