If you found out the sex before birth?
I had my Level II today and we didn't ask the sex. I was wondering if you could see the parts without looking directly between the legs? Like when they scanned the body could you see parts from the front?

The first time we went we couldn't see anything (his legs were shut tight). But the second time I was looking at the machine and could tell there was an extra something in between his legs... Before she even said anything I told DH it was a BOY!!!

Ok, that was my question. The babies legs were open, knees were spread apart. Every time the tech would pass by I could swear I saw something. He never directly looked at it, I was curious if I really saw the penis or if my eyes were deceiving me.

Hmmmm well then I dont know what I saw. It was an above shot, never from under the hiney. I could have sworn I saw a pee pee and testicals. Can you see testicals at 20 weeks? I never saw lines. Just outlines - KWIM. But then Im not sure cause it could have been the cord but I don't think so.
Crap - Im going to torture myself for the next 20 weeks. I guess Im going with Im having a boy. It figures since we don't have a boys name

You can defnitily see testicals at 20 weeks. We knew ours was a boy once the tech told us (well me, dh some how figured it out before me) then it all became very clear. I guess since it was an "areial" view and not from behind it is hard to say. You will find out in 20 weeks though

We didn't find out the sex, but the tech did a 3-D scan for us during my level II & I could swear I saw a penis! I didn't ask & she didn't say though. Turns out, I was very wrong! DD is definitely a girl! Now I think it was just part of the umbilical cord!

I heard that if it is a boy it looks like a turtle and if it's a girl it looks like 3 lines.
I could have sworn I saw a turtle and was convinced I was having a boy --- ended up with a girl! So I think you never know!

Well, we did not find out, but at the Level II I swore I saw "something" and convinced myself it was a boy...whatever it was, it looked like a penis!! Well, Katherine definitely doesn't have one of those!

ok, we had the opposite experience from most people here. We didn't find out, but at the level II DH was convinced he "didn't see anything" so it was "definitely a girl."  I kept saying, what are you a Dr, you don't know what you're looking for.  oh, and we had a boy.

I saw "something" there when I had a sono at 16 weeks. The tech was like- "oh do you want to know what it is?" and I say, "I already know that its a boy, I just saw it!!"

DD's legs were closed at the Level II so we had a feeling she was a girl being lady like  The tech asked us to come back in 2 week since we really wanted to know the sex and then we saw 3 lines  :

I was told by a sonotech that when they do it that way you can't tell. (the quick glance) I was like 32 weeks & I couldn't tell Patrick was a boy. She says people think they see things it doesn't mean their right. hell sonotechs have gotten it wrong.
