Re: Fun, inexpensive or FREE activities???

Holtsville Ecology Park has a free petting zoo type thingie, plus nature walk and playground. Free, free, free.

There's also some really great museums all over L.I. which are very affordable. Tackapusha in Seaford has shows, a bat cave, reptile exhibits, etc. Super cheap.

Re: Fun, inexpensive or FREE activities???

AGWAY in Hicksville has alot of activities for halloween for the kiddies I think its around $10 and that includes the following,

Haunted house
pony rides
petting zoo
feeding of animals
pumpkin picking
face painting
hay ride
painting of pumpkin
also bring your own clothes so you can stuff them and create a scarecrow

I am going on the 16th
the phone number to the place is 516-931-0342

Re: Fun, inexpensive or FREE activities???

I back up the vote for the Ecology Center in Holtsville. I used to live in Holtsville in my single days and went there all the time just to use the walking track. They have such great facilities though and the free petting zoo has a lot of different animals. I really wish I lived closer now that I am expecting ... and even though I don't it'll be well worth the trip to go out there next summer once my little one is here. It's a great place.

If you want to e-mail me the pics I can resize them on my kodak software for you.

I'm so glad you had a great time. The place is so awesome and it's a bonus that it's free!
