Mommies of babies that are about 3 months old

What things do you do with your baby?
I feel like there are things I should be doing with Ali, but I don't know what.

We play in her gym (sometimes together, sometimes she plays alone)
We play with her stuffed toys together
She plays in the bouncy seat
She plays in her swing
We play with Casey (our Golden Retriever)
We watch tv together

I am sure I do more, but when you write it down it looks like nothing.

She is 3 1/2 months old. She I take out her exersaucer?

I think that's a lot! We do almost the same things. We've started reading to him a little bit - when he will sit still in our arms. Chat Icon

Well, we do all the things you said, except I have cats, not a dogChat Icon
We go for walks and I take her out A LOT. She loves going to stores because she now notices EVERYTHING. She's so nosey!Chat Icon
I also read to her a lot. She really enjoys books. We look at pictures of her and other family members, too. She studies them.
I sing to her A LOT.
I play my flute for her.
That's about it for now.
I recently started using the Bumbo seat, too.

Good Question Marcie.

I don't know what to do with DS besides make silly faces. He's still not interested in touching and reaching out for objects. Is that even normal?

What makes them really tired at this age?

do you give him things to try to reach for even though he's not interested? I just automatically always put things in reach for Ava and one day she finally had the control to get them.

Yes I do but he never shows interest in grabbing them. Last night when he was in the bouncy seat he actually was hitting one of the hanging toys. It was the first time we've seen him do that.

Kate & Rachel - what do you read to them? I know it sounds like a silly question, I am just trying to get a feel for what other moms do.

Re: Mommies of babies that are about 3 months old

We read those hard covered books to him. you know, the ones where all the pages are hard covered. We try to read him short books. I made the mistake of reading a longer story, big mistake. He won't sip on our laps for that long during story time. We need to start slowly with the short books, which he like better and are more colorful. He'll sit on our laps for that and look at the book. The three we read to him are, Daddy loves me, Mommy loves me, and I love you all the time. We alternate between those three books.

So far they are his favorites. Because if the book has the baby getting kisses and hugs we will do that to DS and he likes it.

I read the board books that have little words and bright pictures. "Chicka Chicka ABC" and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" are popular at my house. I think picture books with actual photos of animals, objects and people are good too - we need some. DD also likes cloth books she can chew on.

I have Goodnight Moon, The Wheels on the Bus book, a book called Snuggle Puppy, a see and feel book. Just basically books with bright pictures. She loves looking at them.

We also sing and dance a lot around here. Sarah loves to sing and dance, and Andy loves to watch Sarah do anything, so I scoop him up and we all dance together.
