Level 2 nipples...

The last few days Ryan looks like he is really suc k ing hard and getting fustrated while eating...

I was hesitant to try the level 2 nipples for they say 3months and up and hes not even a month old yet...however we tried it last night, and he seems to be doing fine... You think this ok???

When did everyone else switch to level 2's??

Re: Level 2 nipples...

I began with level 2 on the Avent bottles and I was breastfeeding at the same time. Now switched to Dr. Brown's and I am using the level 1, I was also wondering whether I should use 2 also. He was working pretty hard at eating last night and kept falling asleep, I think he might be getting tired from all the work. Is it time to switch? He is 2 months today!

They recommend level 2 for 3 months and up? Jake is almost 4 months and I haven't switched yet! I suppose I should try them out. I suppose it's time...even though, he seems to be fine with the level 1s.

As long as he is not dribbling, coughing, or choking during the feeding - or spitting up alot afterwards, it's probably okay. Just watch for those signs.

For regular formula feedings Nate is using Level 1. He seems to be fine with it, so I haven't changed. When I put cereal in his last feeding, I use the "Y" nipple made for cereal. Nate will be 5 months next week.

This is what Ryan was doing...since I switched...(only the past 2 feedings) he ate everything and didnt fall asleep...I was wondering if the sleeping thing had any correlation also...??

I just tried a two and he almost finished all four ounces, he was not chocking but there was some dribble on the side. I don't want him overeating because it comes out too easily. Is that possible or do they know when to stop? I was wondering because you know what they say about adults that it takes 20 minutes to feel full when eating.
